Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
US actor Finn, who was seen in beloved television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.
