NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features text commentary for Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , after recent discussion about two top teams being possible championship contenders, each lost their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the amount of infractions each conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

But it was good to see how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit before direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.

Denver boast the top defender with CB their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They had the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always sending extra pass rushers instead they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted during a show how Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They finished the previous year strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has stepped up big while recent RB their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.

His assets are his mobility, being able to pass while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not bothered by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

If you consistently rush it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to be in play extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the area downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly build something up the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

The head coach owns a Super Bowl and now surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the achievements Denver are having on offence is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps make him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to assist you through difficult moments and build confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key is to continue this path.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they should do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Since the league started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the West.

It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
