Fresh Information Come to Light About the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies
Recent details have emerged about the untimely deaths of renowned director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.
A Alarm
As detailed in an account quoting a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after failing to get inside the residence. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.
After gaining access to the home, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had gone with her contacted 911. Following this, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Charges
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody and is ineligible for bail.
Disputed Reports
The person close to the family challenged several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.
Furthermore pushed back against circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation applies to accounts of alleged "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Details
Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the residence. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
