Former Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
